Join an AI-focused fintech startup as a founding engineer, building full-stack products and AI agent systems for enterprise customers in specialized, data-intensive industries. You will own product work end to end, from understanding customer workflows to shipping reliable production systems.
Build AI agents and product features from the ground up.
Own product modules from customer discovery and domain research through production launch.
Work directly with enterprise customers on-site to understand their workflows, unstructured data, and pain points.
Design and refine evaluation frameworks to measure the accuracy and usefulness of AI agents in specialized domains.
Build backends that use large language models to ingest, structure, and reason over unstructured data.
Contribute across engineering, user research, and domain learning to help customers succeed.

Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup, and evidence of taking on challenging work or launching products.
Hands-on experience using agentic engineering tools in your day-to-day work, and openness to AI-driven engineering.
Experience building and shipping production LLM or AI agent systems, including prompt engineering, evaluation design, context construction, and agentic workflow design.
Proficiency in modern backend languages, preferably TypeScript, and full-stack engineering skills.
Customer-facing experience, clear communication, intellectual curiosity, and a product-minded approach.
Experience in insurance, fintech, healthtech, legaltech, or another regulated or data-intensive domain is helpful. Strong CS fundamentals are valued; a degree is not required with a strong work history.
Salary range: $180,000 to $280,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
On-site, five days per week in San Francisco, California, with occasional travel to customer sites.
